Pattern (Make two)

PHOTO INSTRUCTIONS:

WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS:

Round 1: Ch 5, sl st to first ch to form a ring. Ch 2 (counts as hdc), work 14 hdc into center of ring (15 hdc total). Sl st to top of beg ch-2.

Round 2 (Points):

  1. Ch 4.
  2. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in final ch.
  3. Sk 2 sts on ring, sl st into next st.
  4. Repeat steps 1–3 around to create 5 points. Break yarn and fasten off.

Assembly & Finishing:

  1. Seaming: Hold two stars with wrong sides together. Sl st edges together using same or contrasting yarn. Leave a 60cm tail for the hanging loop.
  2. Hanging Loop: Thread the long tail onto a yarn needle. Insert needle up through the top star point, then down through the same spot to form a 2cm loop.
  3. Securing: Hold the loop with your finger, insert needle into the next stitch, and pull firmly. Insert needle back up through the first stitch to anchor it. Pull tight.
  4. Finishing: Insert needle at the base of the loop, push it through to the back of the star, and pull through. Trim yarn and hide the tail inside the star.

Maker’s Note: Ensure your seaming tension is even to keep the star shape symmetrical. If you prefer a larger hanging loop, simply increase the length of the yarn loop in Step 2.

Enjoy your finished Padded Stars!
