FAQ
Here you’ll find some answers to the most common questions regarding patterns, collaborations, tools yarn, amongst other things. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, please feel free to reach out to me using the form at the bottom of this page.
How can I use your patterns and what are the rules regarding copyright?
All patterns, photographs and written content on this site are the intellectual property © 2026 Emmaknitty (Emma Munn). All rights reserved unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or share my patterns (in whole or in part), whether in digital or printed form.
♡ You are welcome to use my patterns to make finished items for personal use or for sale in small quantities.
If you sell finished items made from my designs, I kindly ask that you credit me as the designer and, where possible, include a link back to my website or pattern page.
Affiliate Links Disclosure:
I am a proud affiliate of Purl Soho and Lovecrafts, amongst others. Some posts on this site may contain affiliate links to these websites. This means I may earn a small commission if you purchase through these links, at no extra cost to you. I only recommend tools, yarns, and materials I genuinely use or believe are helpful for makers.
I represent a yarn brand/magazine/etc and would like to collaborate. Would you be interested?
Thanks for your interest ♡ I am always open to reviewing products if they are a fit with my brand and aesthetic, especially yarn and accessories. Please note that although I am open to receiving products for trial, I do not design patterns or write copy/ads/social media content without payment unless otherwise agreed.
If you are interested in working with me on paid collaborations please contact me via the form at the bottom of the page for more information on my rates.
I have noticed an error in one of your patterns. What can I do?
Firstly, thank you for noticing! If you have spotted an error please contact me using the comment form, mentioning the pattern name, error and – if appropriate – the proposed correction.
What are your policies on A.I use?
I have a strong anti-A.I stance and do not use it in any form in my patterns, daily life or brand identity. As a member of the creative industry I feel that it does not have a place in our world, destroys the environment, people’s creativity, critical thinking skills and helps to fund genocides and tyrannical regimes around the world. These values to not align with my beliefs and you will not find me using Artifical Intelligence in any form here. If you are using my patterns, please refrain from using A.I to adjust them or change them in any way, as this not only feeds A.I but also is in breach of copyright law.
Do you sell your finished items or can you make something for me?
I occasionally sell my finished items in sample sales over on my Etsy page or on Ko-Fi, but I am also open to requests. If you would like me to make something for you can contact me using the form at the bottom of the page. Please take into account that I am unable to make things for free or for individuals who are only able to supply the yarn to make the item as knitting and crochet is my job and will require compensation.
What hooks and needles do you use?
My favourite brands to use are Knitpro, Hobbii and Drops for knitting needles but for crochet hooks I tend to use very simple plastic ones from budget shops! I’m not too fussy when it comes to notions but I do think it’s worth using the best equipment that you can afford.
Where do you get your yarn from?
I mostly shop online for my yarn or from local yarn stores, but the majority of the yarn I use is or has been gifted from brands who kindly sponsor Emmaknitty.
Can you teach me how to knit or crochet?
Unfortunately I am not a knitting and crochet tutor and do not offer classes. Due to time constraints I am also unable to offer video tutorials of my patterns, although this is something I may venture into in future.
Can I test one of your patterns?
Of course! If you’re interested in being a pattern tester feel free to get in touch. You will need to be an experienced knitter/crocheter and have had experience in pattern testing before, but I welcome applications from testers.
